Authentic Leadership for the City of San Marcos.

Dear San Marcos Resident,

I have been so honored to serve you for the last 15+ years, especially the last 3 1/2 years as your Mayor. We have achieved so much during my time serving you.

We are realizing one of our lowest overall crime rates in our city's history; we are now the second safest city in the county of San Diego!

Our stellar City of San Marcos Fire Department (SMFD) has achieved a Class 1 Public Protection Classification rating, the highest level of recognition available. As a result of these great achievements, along with their belief that I am the best candidate to keep our city safe, both the San Diego County Sheriff’s Association and San Marcos Fire Department are endorsing my re-election for Mayor.

I have always strongly protected your tax dollars by spending them wisely. During my time on the council and now as Mayor, I have been very proud to keep our budget balanced and maintain strong reserves, often in excess of 40%.

The backbone of our local economy is our small businesses. I will continue to be a huge champion for our local business owners. For our new businesses especially, I ensure they are connected to the right city staff to help them open their doors as quickly as possible.

During my service to our community, I have worked hard to improve your quality of life. We have built or re-built 10 parks and added miles of trails in San Marcos - we now enjoy over 70 miles of trails and 24 community parks,  13 neighborhood parks, and 3 recreation centers. They call us “San Parkos” for good reason! On the 1 year anniversary of taking office as your Mayor we broke ground on the $106 million dollar Creek infrastructure project that provides much needed flood control and upgraded connectivity for motorists, pedestrians and cyclists alike along with an accompanying project that adds an additional route adjacent to the new Kaiser hospital that is under construction to Twin Oaks Valley Road. I have continued  pushing city efforts to upgrade all of our traffic controllers so they are ready for the next generation software that will move us to better traffic flow throughout our community.

It is a true honor to represent you, fight for our beautiful city, to maintain local control and work hard for you, making our San Marcos a place we are all proud to call home.

I would be honored to have your vote on November 8th!
